It is my belief that I receive a disproportionate amount of goodwill and love from the world. I am hugely, overwhelmingly thankful for every day of this. I also believe time is the most valuable commodity of all, and for all you (over a hundred plus!) fine folks who set aside time, who made time and took the effort to attend my "First and Last Birthday Party," as it were, I'm simply unable to express my gratitude adequately. I hardly know what I've done to be on the receiving end of such an avalanche of kindness. Thank you all! We help each other into who we are, and I'm so glad to know each of you.

I saw your cake from the side and the back at the party, but it didn't actually see the front until I saw your post. What a happy bus cake! Love that!! Yummy, too.

Cutting into it was painful– it was too beautiful! Anatomically correct, with a platform mirroring the real-life location used for the photo on the blog header image (outbound Jackson onto SB Rainier). I almost said we shouldn't cut it at all, and only allowed it to happen because Mandy Greer, the artist, who was present, wisely noted, "but that's life!"

It is all so fleeting...

Mandy's work was stunning! I am so glad that people were able see it on your blog especially if they were unable 2 see it in person. Now, if only I had some Red Bull 2 chase it down!

thank you, though Mandy did not make the cake. I simply mention her as being a well-known artist whom you may have heard of. Hazel, her son, is the author of the cake!

Ah, my mistake! The good thing is that I was able to look at Mandy's website. Kudos to Hazel, creator of the amazingly memorable bus cake!
