Yes, I really enjoyed your photos of Rainier Avenue. I know that stop on Andover...by the Safeway. I've always loved the one of the Darigold mural, as well! Many thanks for your thoughtful work.

Thanks for construing my photographs as thoughtful! I love the Darigold mural. It encapsulates what the Rainier Ave corridor is in an image. Which is why I was hellbent on getting a shot of the 7 passing by it!

Sorry, I meant to say both images of the Darigold mural aka The Rainbow of Diversity; not just one. Dane bramage! I also liked your Rainier in Black and White and the Georgetown series.

I know that you're thinking all the time! Left brain, right brain, opening and closing the doors, greeting passengers, driving the bus, interacting with the people, being mindful of traffic & safety, and whatever comes your way. Your synapses must fire something fierce!

Thanks again, Mia! As for synapses, yes, driving the bus and processing all that is an exhilerating experience. It's oddly similar to watching a film– also an environment where there's a tremendous amount of material to process, far more than merely story content and acting (the two elements I think people focus on most, since they come most obviously from other artistic disciplines). I love drinking it all up– compositional and depth of field decisions, color, movement, how the medium (film/digital) registers objects, editing rhythms and juxtapositions, thematics, ties to life and/or other films, structure, design, sound, music...
