One Last Story (Video)

Well, here we are. I started this blogging journey eight years ago today with this piece. On March 1 of this year I detailed why I'm changing gears, here. And today I've got this treat for you– a video explaining what you can expect next from me, along with a story of the passenger who's impacted me the most over the course of my career, and not in ways I could have anticipated.

Thank you all so much for your enthusiastic support of my enthusiasm! Through all these years and moving forward, as I continue with new projects (which I'll keep you abreast of with this blog, along with, I'm sure, the occasional story). Without your support the burgeoning art, writing and film careers of mine wouldn't be happening. Thank you. No words are adequate.

Enjoy the video!

New to the site? This blog is 1,200 plus true stories of strangers being kind to each other on city buses I've driven. Click here for an index of the final 57 stories, plus highlights from the blog's earlier years.

Julia,

It's my pleasure. I feel so great about how this all turned out, and am excited to be working behind the scenes on a couple of big projects I'm about to share about soon!

Wow, best half hour that I've spent in awhile. I've purchased multiple copies of your book to give as gifts and am now without one. I was in Elliott Bay Books yesterday for the first time in months and as I was checking out I saw it on the shelf across the way and thought - oh, I need to replace a copy for myself sometime soon. I had not been to your site and read your blog in quite sometime, so as a distraction from my work just now I pulled it up. Signed up for your series at the Redmond Library and then wasn't going to commit to listening to this whole presentation about Will, but gosh am I glad I did.

I live in Columbia City and every time I see the 7 stop at Rainier and Edmunds I look for you behind the wheel just so I can say hello. Maybe one day I'll be lucky. The world needs more folks like you!

Paula,

Thank you so much for your words and taking a moment with this video. I'm glad it was interesting enough to hold you for the full runtime! That was the hope. He was someone I'd wanted to write about for the longest time, but didn't quite know how until recently. I feel good about it capping the last 8 years of stories (officially, that is; I just wrote another the other night because a thing happened that was just too great to pass up writing about!! I'll post it soon).

And of course I'm thrilled about your purchasing and sharing the book!!! Thank you so much, Paula!!
